Your privacy matters to us. Arthmantra is a personal finance application and we understand that financial data is sensitive. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Account information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password).
Financial data you enter
All transactions, accounts, budgets, investments, loans, and other financial records you create in Arthmantra are stored on our servers. This data is entered by you voluntarily and is used solely to power the application for your personal use.
Usage data
We may collect basic usage logs (page visits, feature usage, error logs) to help us improve the application. This data is not linked to your financial records and is used only for debugging and improvement.
Device & browser information
Standard technical information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address may be logged as part of normal server operation.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Arthmantra application
- To authenticate you securely when you log in
- To generate reports, dashboards, and financial summaries for your use
- To send transactional emails (password resets, account notifications)
- To identify and fix bugs or errors in the application
- To improve features based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns
We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, credit scoring, or any purpose other than running the application for you.

- JWT-based authentication with token expiry
- Access controls ensuring each user can only access their own data
While we take reasonable security measures, no system is completely immune to breach. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Arthmantra account.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
We may disclose data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal obligation: If required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Arthmantra, its users, or others
Your financial records are strictly isolated — no other registered user can view your data under any circumstances.

Arthmantra uses minimal cookies required for the application to function:
- Authentication cookies/tokens: To keep you logged in securely across sessions
- Preference cookies: To remember minor UI preferences
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of Arthmantra after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
